Mr Khadga Thapa has a range of personal and work experiences which he brings to this organisation. He has an intense passion for working with vulnerable people and a great enthusiasm to reflect his experiences to the Tasmanian community.

Mr Thapa lived in a refugee camp for nearly two decades. He experienced inadequate housing and medical facilities and witnessed many fellow people dying from hunger and a lack of adequate health care during this time. This is what motivates Mr Thapa to reach out and assist people whenever he has the opportunity. As luck would have it, Mr Thapa moved to Australia leaving behind the miserable life of a refugee camp. When he first arrived in Tasmania, he encountered numerous challenges settling in a new country with his wife and elderly parents. His family now includes two sons who were both born in Tasmania.

Mr Thapa holds various academic qualifications, including Certificate III in Aged Care and Community Services, Bachelor of Paramedics, Bachelor of Nursing and holds APHRA registration. He has worked as a Registered Nurse in a residential home for six years and as an Extended Care Assistant in Aged Care for three years. He has also worked as a Bicultural Community Healthcare Worker at Red Cross, where he educated migrant communities about the healthcare system in Australia.

Through Innovative Care Tasmania, Mr Thapa aims to provide a high-quality service to clients by catering for their individual needs.
